Solution to a Government Out of Control

This federal government has become so bloated and intrusive over the past 20-30 years as to be oppressive. It has overstepped its bounds and is outside the U.S. Constitution that created it. It is largely staffed by parasites and criminals.

We have seen recently the rampant corruption that has allowed elected officials to enrich themselves with inside information that would have jailed the rest of us. They control every aspect of our lives while exempting themselves from the laws we have to abide by. The leaders of both parties in both houses of COngress have been caught with the hands in the cookie jar. And they yawned.

They gave themselves free health insurance and hefty pensions for working less than the rest of us and excluded themselves from the new healthcare laws. The only place where average incomes and home values INCREASED during the recession was Washington D.C. and Virginia counties near it.

They declared our very exhale to be a pollutant and took over-the-counter inhalers away from asthma sufferers. They banned the light-bulb and then tried to make us believe they reversed that AFTER the last domestic light-bulb factory had closed.

They send our tax dollars to Pakistan, Syria, Libya and Egypt where the governments foment hatred against us and our allies. They fund 75% of the criminally corrupt UN where anti-Americanism is the ideology of the day.

They claim it is legal to kill American citizens when they declare them to be terrorists and now say they can detain Americans without habeas corpus. We fought a revolution for that right.

They sell sophisticated weapons to countries that will use them against us but prosecute you of you open a farm stand and sell vegetables to your neighbors.

They feign disagreement on fundamental issues like taxes, spending, abortion, and homosexual rights in order to secure massive campaign contributions from the gullible who think they actually care. They redistrict themselves into perpetual reelection even as their approval ratings as a group drop below 10%.

They argue over the defense of our country while ignoring the unguarded borders here and patrol them in countries most Americans couldn't find on a map. They confuse defense spending with security to prop up a wasteful set of programs in their own districts.

They use education spending as a moral weapon against their opponents while dropout rates increase and the country falls further behind the world.

For these reasons and many many more, I believe simply picking the next-in-line candidate for President will not due. Even the leftist, Marxist, antiwar, community organizer couldn't change the course in Washington or beyond. The only candidate who is talking real and dramatic change, a drain-the-swamp-and-start-over transformative candidate is Ron Paul. The establishment, both parties and the media are scared to death of this guy. They should be.

"Benevolent Liberals" Hurting the Disabled of San Francisco

OK. I started out with an oxymoron - benevolent liberals. But typically, those of the so-called progressive ilk like to call us conservatives mean spirited - don't care about the poor, women, minorities, blah, blah blah.

So the last place you'd expect one of us minorities to get a hard time is one of liberaldom's capital cities, San Francisco.

But there I was trying to get a flight home on unnamed airline that departs from the International Terminal. The first thing this disabled person noticed was there is no curbside check-in. And the walk to the ticket counter is quite long. The International Terminal in San Francisco is the size and warmth of an indoor football stadium.

But once I reached the counter, limping from Multiple Sclerosis, I just asked for wheelchair assistance. At the airport I had traveled from a day earlier, I simply got out of my limo next to curbside check-in, checked my bag and asked for a wheelchair and one was there withing 3 minutes.

In San Fran, after getting my boarding pass I was instructed to go sit another 100 feet away and wait. Someone would be by "shortly." After 20 minutes and watching numerous wheelchair attendants go by I again inquired where my chair was. I was told it would be another 30 minutes as they were backed up. Since I didn't have another 30 minutes I informed the ticket counter attendant that "I'm going to walk to my flight and if I fall down I'm going to sue this airline." And off I went limping towards security.

Before I arrived at TSA's torture apparatus, someone from the airline, a supervisor I think he said, nearly tackled me from behind and asked me to get in the chair he had commandeered. I said, "This isn't your job is it?" and He said it wasn't. He went on to explain that the city had a contract with a union to provide wheelchair service at the airport and that the union-staffed company didn't have sufficient resources (weren't getting paid enough graft, er taxpayer money). He was likely breaking union rules and risking a grievance to get me to my flight but didn't want me blaming the airline.

So isn't that wonderful? San Francisco is sacrificing the safety and comfort of the disabled to appease some union.

While in flight, a flight attendant came to my row and asked, "Does someone here require assistance when we land?" 'That would be me," I responded. "There will be someone waiting on the ramp when we land." she said. And sure enough there was. The airline didn't want to get blamed for the whole San Fran mess.

Don't ever let some sniveling liberal lecture you about compassion and care of the less fortunate because the fact is, they really don't care. They just think government will handle everything and they can pass more laws to force people to take care of each other.

Jesus said, "Love your neighbor." Who was my neighbor that day? The guy from the airline. He treated me well and even made sure I'd be taken care of at the other end. The mayor of San Francisco ad his union friends likely pocketed a few bucks on this deal. Jesus has some words for them too.

One Hopeless State University

While controversy swirls around Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee's decision to officially rename Christmas, Massachusetts has gone one better.

In a letter to students, the Dean's office at Framingham State University announced that there would no longer be the "tradition" of lighting the "Tree of Hope " opting instead for a "Winter Festival". If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny, like something from an old Seinfeld episode about Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us.

Here's the letter:

Dear Colleagues and Students,

This year, Framingham State University will begin a new
tradition. Replacing the Tree of Hope lighting, which the University will not sponsor this year,will be a Winter Festival, scheduled for February 3, 4, and 5. The Winter Festival will be an opportunity for the campus to come together as a community and enjoy winter-themed activities. Plans are currently being made for a ski trip, ice-skating, marathon movie viewing, and more. These activities will complement the University’s Winter Commencement, which will be held on Saturday, February 4.

We hope you will make plans to participate in the Winter Festival activities. More details will follow.

Now the first question that comes to mind is, huh? What's the point? Who celebrates "Winter"? But the point is obvious. There will be no recognition of any religious themed holiday at the end of the year. Even one that alludes to the controversial concept of 'hope' is forbidden.

As offensive as that idea may be, even more offensive is what these same atheistic bureaucrats did when a student was recently killed in a car accident near the campus. They did nothing. Instead, a small group of students organized a prayer service for the family and friends of the student. University officials hid behind their lawyers and fear of religion, only agreeing to let the thing proceed.

Is this what society has come to? Not just hostility to religion but outright phobia of anything that relates to it. The state has morphed into exactly what Orwell predicted, a monolithic, atheistic, cold-hearted subhuman entity afraid of its own people.

Framingham State wasn't forced into this posture through threats or lawsuits. They actually chose to be 'hopeless" this Christmas.

Time For Conservatives to Dump Wal-Mart

I understand the historical support most conservatives gave to Wal-Mart initially. An example of free enterprise and American success, they seemed to be under attack from the left only because their business model was perceived to be anti union.

But politics clouded the dark underside of Wal-Mart. Their everyday low prices came as a result of onerous contracts that put such American staple companies as Rubbermaid out of business. Wal-Mart's contracts favor Chinese manufacturing and advantages so-called "free trade".

We conservatives like to tout capitalism and free enterprise, fairness in business dealing and a level playing field. But the Chinese don't play by these rules. Their forced labor, prison labor, child labor and poor working conditions are not stereotypes. Nor is their choking pollution. China also props up their currency artificially to give themselves an unfair advantage in trade.

There is a sad and dangerous history of our government looking the other way when it comers to China, ever since 1972 when President Richard Nixon "opened Chinese markets". We've heard for a generation about the billion consumers in China who will buy American goods. It was a myth. The only thing America has ever exported to China is manufacturing jobs and intellectual property. If you buy an iPod in China it likely wasn't made by Apple. If you buy one here it was manufactured in China by slave labor.

How does an American company like Rubbermaid compete? With layers of environmental and labor laws piled on them, they don't have a chance.

If you buy cheap goods from Wal-Mart made in China, you're just feeding the problem. You're adding to American unemployment, contributing to the slave labor in China, and as usual, funding an adversary who is plotting to do us harm.

Conservatives need to stop propping up Wal-Mart and start propping up American jobs.

Choose Life - Your Own Depends on it.

Bill and Rita came over for dinner and laughs. Dave and Ellen hadn't seen them in years. Bill and Dave had met at work and struck up a friendship. They had a few drinks after work, went to lunch and talked about life to the extent 24 year olds knew anything about it. They got married within 3 weeks of each other 25 years ago. But from there, they took very different paths.

Dave and Ellen had their first child before their first anniversary, three children in their first five years of marriage and now have seven. They've had their ups and downs, financial and medical, but for the most part are the picture of the happy American family. Two of the boys were baseball stars in high school, the three oldest kids all went to college and have great job outlooks. The younger ones excel in school and are involved in activities like band and sports. And Dave and Ellen have led a life of sacrifice for their children, giving up vacations and free time to make sure the kids get to see all that life has to offer. As well, they have relied on a deep Catholic faith, thankful for all the blessings God has showered on them.

Bill and Rita are childless. They have worked together in their own small business, have traveled, and enjoy nights out with friends and family. They've had their share of struggles. Rita has had breast tumors removed three times and is being monitored for pre-cancerous growths. Bill has high blood pressure, liver damage and precancerous growth in his throat, the result of smoking and drinking. Bill once confided to his good friend a dark secret.

When Bill and Rita were dating, Rita became pregnant on two occasions. They weren't married, had little income, no place to live and hadn't been together long enough to make a lifelong commitment. They decided in each case to have an abortion. No immediate complications were noticed and both went about their lives, eventually getting married, buying a home, and sharing their lives together. They tried to have children but to no avail. They sought fertility help but Rita had internal scarring that prevented pregnancy.

Abortion has many known complications. Among them an increased risk of breast cancer and infertility. Other complications include internal bleeding, subsequent premature births or miscarriages, and depression. There is devastation for the male involved as well. With hopes of a family dashed, reckless behavior can result. Alcoholism and its ravages thwart a career and destroy health.

Bill has cirrhosis, a permanent damage to the liver that will get worse if he doesn't stop drinking. Rita also drinks and smokes and together they seem to have a death pact. I wish I could do something for them but I sincerely believe the "choices" they made early in life sealed their fate.

"Choose life" doesn't only apply to the immediate pregnancy you may be faced with. It is a way to fulfill Christ's promise to you, "I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly."

There are resources for women who have remorse of guilt about abortion, and for the physical and psychological damage it has left too. Project Rachel is one of the better ones.

Pro-Lifer Attacked, All of Us Attacked

1. Pro-life activist beaten, arrested, and accused of bomb plot by police while handing out pro-life flyers at local town fair.

The open hostility and even vitriol by police against pro-family and pro-life citizens in the public square has reached a frightening new level. We're now seeing pro-life activists innocently passing out flyers considered to be dangerous terrorists by police departments.

On August 11, Peter D'Attilio was merely handing out 2-inch-wide pro-life bookmark flyers at a local fair in Franklin, Massachusetts when he was arrested, handcuffed, and beaten by police while his hands were cuffed behind his back.

The police then accused him of conspiring to plant bombs at the event, telling him that pro-life people "are known for that kind of thing." They ransacked his truck with "bomb-sniffing dogs" while he was being held in a cell at the police station. He was charged with resisting arrest and disturbing the peace and now faces 2½ years in jail and hundreds of dollars in fines. He strongly denies all of the charges

He has also been told that as a result of the incident he has been put on a "terrorist watch list."

Peter D'Attilio is a staunch pro-life activist who ironically is known for pacifism and never responding to provocation. He has no history of violence of any kind. But he was also accused by the Franklin police of assaulting the police officers, in addition to resisting arrest. The statements and accusations by the police, including those in the police report (see below), are "full of lies," D'Attilio says.

Disturbing and frightening trend by government and police

The extremely hostile attitude against people with traditional values is not an accident, but is tied to official policy in local police forces. In 2009 a sub-group of the federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a bizarre document warning law enforcement agencies that pro-life and other conservative groups are possible domestic terrorist organizations. The DHS has also encouraged local police departments across the country to work with radical far-left "watchdog" groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The SPLC has compiled an enormous list of supposed "extremists" and "hate groups" which includes the Tea Party movement, US Reps. Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, the Family Research Council, anti-illegal immigration groups, pro-life groups, various Christian groups and, yes, even MassResistance.

The Franklin police report on the D'Attilio incident (see below) specifically mentions that the police officers were looking for a man who was handing out "a pamphlet about abortion." And they subsequently accused D'Attilio -- with no evidence whatsoever and after beating him -- of threatening to plant explosives at the event.

Prominently displayed inside the police department is a big "No Place for Hate" banner. No Place for Hate is a left-wing nationwide propaganda campaign which teaches that traditional pro-family values are "hate" which must be stamped out. This offensive campaign has been adopted by communities, police departments and even school systems across the country. It's widely opposed by pro-family groups and others.

Peter D'Attilio's account of incident

Here is Peter D'Attilio's description of what happened:

On Thursday, August 11 at 7 pm I arrived at the St. Rocco fair (an annual Italian festival held on the grounds of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Franklin, Mass.) and handed out pro-life flyers to over 50 teens. They were well received as they thanked me for the info. At 7:45 I went back to my truck for five minutes to say a few prayers. My truck was parked at the corner of Pleasant St. and Queen St., not too far away.

Then I re-entered the fair which was free and open to the public. I gave out the flyers to about six teens who were sitting at a table when two cops approached me. One of them asked, "What are you doing?" I said, "Giving out public service announcements, sir." He asked to see my ID. I said "Why?" (Police are required to have probable cause of a crime committed to demand an ID. I've seen situations where pro-life people, after giving out their IDs, will be immediately given a legal no-trespass warning without reason, and other such harassments.)

He got upset and demanded my ID and said that by law you have to identify yourself to a police officer, and threatened me with arrest. Besides that, he would not give a reason. Then he falsely accused me of having outstanding warrants as a reason to not ID myself. He said that this was private property owned by the church. So I said, "If that is the case then I'll leave right now." He told me not to leave. So I didn't, nor did I make any attempt to.

Assaulted by police

I told him he was illegally detaining me. He then put his hand in my back pocket to grab my wallet, but I also put my hand in my back pocket to hold my wallet, so he gave up trying. That is when he put the handcuffs on me. He claimed I tried to resist that, which I didn't. I remember one of the male teens saying to me, "Sorry" as I was still in front of them.

The cop had me walk over to the curb, then he got behind me. Suddenly I was on my knees as he started choking me. The cruiser showed up and I yelled to the group of teens, "Get the camera out." Then as I was peacefully going into the cruiser the same cop punched me hard in the face without warning or cause, giving me a black eye. I am sure the two other cops who were standing there saw it up close. There might have been more assaults on me between the chocking and the punch, but there are no other bruises and I can't remember since it happened so fast.

At the police station

I told the sergeant who did the booking at the station, Sgt. Manocchio, many times about the assault. He just ignored me. I showed him my swelling eye, and he ignored it. The sergeant asked me six times if I planned to blow up the carnival. I asked, "What on earth gives you that idea?" He said, "You guys are known for that sort of thing. I admit it hasn't happened in a while but there was that guy, Eric Rudolph in South Carolina, who blew up the Olympics about 25 years ago." [NOTE: It was actually in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996.]

When I was put in a cell he came back and asked me again if there was "anything at the carnival that I left that could do great harm to people." I said, "I don't know what you are talking about. I don't know anything about bombs. I've never had that or violence on my record. I don't know anyone who has bombs or used bombs or knows how to use bombs. Where are you getting this?" Then he said, "I gotta go" and left the station for many hours.

Out of jail, into court

When I got out of jail I found my truck had been broken into. The door was left wide open, everything was moved around as if it had been thoroughly searched, both seats were in the forward position, not how I left it, and there was a pair of plastic gloves on the hood of my vehicle.

Six hours later - the following morning - I was in court and got a copy of the police report. It was filled with lies. I went to file an official complaint at the station. They said the chief was there 9-4 and I just missed him, so I should come back Monday. I spoke further with the sergeant who did the booking, Sgt. Manocchio, and he said he knew nothing about the searching of my vehicle. I had a long conversation about my case. He brought in a detective; I didn't get his name. I asked why the cop didn't have a scratch on him if there was a "scuffle" as mentioned in his report. The next day the newspaper police blog said he injured his knee in the scuffle. No mention of it in the police report. Is he changing his story?

The cops also said I'd be getting something in the mail about trespassing against the church, effective indefinitely. "The anti-trespassing order is for life," I was told. Peter Brunelli, who had been running the fair, was apparently involved with filing a trespassing warning on behalf of the church against me. However, since then I contacted the church and explained the situation, and they've lifted that order.

Later -- back to police station & scene of incident

On Monday when I came back to the police station a different cop, Lt. Ryan, spoke with me. I said I wanted to file a breaking and entering report regarding my truck. He said I can't because, though he admitted my truck was searched, he said that there was "suspicious activity by my vehicle" and they had to bring out bomb-sniffing dogs. But he didn't say what exactly the suspicious activity was. The lieutenant also refused to let me speak to the chief of police saying, "Only I am allowed to take your complaint." I said I would like a picture of my eye taken as evidence to your investigation. But he said, "YOU DON'T TELL ME HOW TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION, TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR OWN EYE".

On Wednesday I went back to the church area to take a picture of where the false arrest took place. I was standing on the public sidewalk taking a few photos. Then a man named Frank, who said he is part of St. Mary's pro-life group and who was helping out putting things away at the fair, came over to me and said, "The whole town is talking about how you are on the terrorist watch list." Then, about a minute later, five police cars and at least one additional unmarked car appeared and surrounded me. Even the prosecutor was there in his white shirt and tie. I was accused of trespassing on Church property. But it was obvious that I was only on the public sidewalk so they soon left, though two cars stayed behind to watch me.

Facing jail time and fine over outrageous, false charges

I am very disturbed that I'm being accused of being involved with some kind of bomb plot. I have always remained non-violent, have no history of bombs or bomb threats nor ever owned a weapon or a permit. Nor did I ever look any such thing up on line. I've never even purchased so much as a firecracker my whole life. Even throughout school I don't think I was ever in a fight, needed teachers involved, or anything like that -- which is unusual for most boys. And besides, I would never fight back to a cop because I know they would a put million charges on someone for doing that. Now I'm facing 2½ years in jail and a big fine. I was just handing out pro-life flyers at a Catholic Church event. (I thought I was in friendly territory.) All of these lies and false charges are absolutely outrageous.

Strange local newspaper account

Two days after the incident the Milford Daily News printed one sentence. It mentions a police officer's injured knee -- which was not mentioned in the police report or anywhere else -- supposedly caused by the "scuffle" which Peter insists never happened.

Peter Dattilio, 40, of 44 Hancock Ave., Newton, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. at 8 Queen St. An officer injured his knee in a "scuffle" with Dattilio, and Dattilio was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, said police.

Lawyer needed!!

On Friday morning Peter was arraigned in court before a judge. His next court appearance is at 9:00 am on Wednesday, September 28.

Right now, Peter D'Attilio needs a lawyer to represent him and to fight these outrageous charges. He is talking with local pro-family lawyers, but many are reluctant to get involved with this kind of case for fear of retribution from police.

He has also been turned down by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ). But this MUST be fought. It's clear that this is not a popular case, and to do it right won't be particularly easy.

(Our question: What is wrong with conservative lawyers? We've run into this before. You can bet your life that if this were a left-wing issue that THEIR lawyers would be aggressively all over this!)

Make no mistake about it. This will eventually happen to you, and it will be sooner than you think. What's happened to the First Amendment? What about Constitutional rights? The answer: Going out the window unless you help stop it. The totalitarian state is on its way at a very fast clip. Local police departments have more and more power, and are lining up in opposition to citizens holding traditional values.

Is this how police should treat honest citizens who are simply exercising their First Amendment rights? Is this the direction you want America to be going?

Made in China - Caution Contains Lead

Yup, you heard that right. So, what is this dangerous item. Actually, I went out looking for a spray nozzle for my garden hose. The last one we had was broken enough to spray water all over me.

I went to the local garden supply store and found an array of nozzles to choose from. But they all had the same warning label; "Warning, do not drink wager from this nozzle, contains lead." They also all said "Made in China." Big surprise.

Now I ask you, what purpose would you use a garden hose for that lead exposure would not be a hazard? Would you water your vegetable garden? Wash your car maybe? Fill your swimming pool? Water the lawn where your children and pets play?

The next thing I got to thinking about is how the government in all its wisdom was able to spend enough time and money to require these warning labels on items like this coming in from China. Yet I bet that even with the added cost, it is still cost prohibitive to make safe ones here in the USA. That about sums up what so-called "free trade" has done. We import toxic goods, home products, pet food, toys, you name it, from China, send trillions of dollars their way in a complete trade imbalance, and close down factories here sending more people onto different sorts of government assistance. Then we borrow from China to pay our debts for our bloated government spending on countless failed programs, like helping families with learning disabled children from, well, lead exposure?

Who is representing the good citizens of the USA? Who looks out for us? Certainly not the elected Congressmen who look the other way while these poison goods fill the shelves of Wal-Mart and Target. And certainly not the Chief Executives, the Presidents who talk about fair trade and insourcing during election cycles but then push for even more unfair and imbalanced trade deals once elected.

Nobody is watching out for Joe Citizen anymore, whether it's toys that sicken or choke kids, autos that are built with known lethal flaws, music and movies that are pirated, or social media that's censored, we have a dysfunctional government that just goes along and instead grabs our attention with divisive issues and phony wars to keep our attention off what they're really doing, or not doing.

When will the citizenry finally awake and see what's really going on? Maybe only when it's too late.

Avoid Executive Search Scams Like McKensie Scott

I hate to admit it but I fell for the scam. I'm posting this here because I still don't want anyone to know who I am and it isn't important anyway.

I was contacted by this fine gentleman from Atlanta a few years ago promising to shorten my job search and get my resume in front of decision makers in the "unpublished job market." His company, McKensie-Scott was supposedly a leader in executive search and placement.

They would create "professional" job seeker tools, resumes and cover letters, and a super search engine, and send them to just the right people for me. The fee was steep, over $6,000 but they said it was "almost" guaranteed to get me a better job within 6 weeks. And they'd put an account executive on the job to help me every step of the way.

I was eager to find a great high paying executive job and most of what they said made sense. For a good reason. If you use your own common sense you'd know you were already doing all you could to find a job.

The first hint of a problem was that their super search engine was just consolidating the same jobs from the same sites I'd already seen. In fact the same jobs were often listed many times in the search result. No big deal i fiured.

When the written materials came, it was more disconcerting. The resumes and cover letters had clearly been written from a template for another profession. So badly edited, some sentences weren't sentences at all and were a hybrid of text from the resume I sent them and the previous placeholder text. It looked like something a high school student did on their spare time. I edited the documents and sent them back. They took that as an approval and billed my the second half of their fee.

Next, they faxed my resume to businesses they felt matched my interests. or so they said. What they did instead was blast fax my resume to every fax number they'd ever recorded. One guy threatened to sue me for sending my resume to his private fax at his home. Two others let me know via email that they were sole proprietorships that had never hired a second employee and never planned to.

So my next step was to try and get some attention from McKensie-Scott. So I called my account executive and left a voicemail. Not hearing back for two days i also emailed and left another message. This was a person who was supposed to be managing my account and being available for any questions. He sent one reply apologizing claiming he was at a corporate meeting. Then I never heard from him again.

Realizing I'd been taken, I called their HQ and demanded my money back. They offered me $1,000 and blew me off.

My advice is simple. There is no way a legitimate executive search firm needs to charge you, the desperate job seeker a fee to find you a job. The hiring companies have the money and will pay for most placements, especially at the executive level.

You are capable of finding companies to contact unsolicited. If you do, they typically won't respond. You are capable of finding jobs on job sites. Three or four will cover all the real jobs and countless not so real ones. A little digging on LinkedIn and the web will reveal who the hiring managers are as well.

There are many executive search firms following the same model I fell for. I hang up on them now. They're truly bottom feeders. Once found out, they shut down and reopen under a new name.

Angry gay activist behind WikiLeaks treachery

What the media leaves out: Army staffer who leaked thousands of documents to WikiLeaks website is homosexual activist - angry at ban on gays in military.

The US Army intelligence analyst who has been arrested for disclosing more than more than 90,000 intelligence reports and more than 150,000 diplomatic cables to the Wikileaks website is a homosexual activist enraged at the military's "anti-gay" policies.

The massive publication of top-secret documents has been called one of the greatest security breeches in US history and has reportedly endangered the lives of US personnel around the world.

Bradley Manning, who is now awaiting court-marshal at a military stockade in Quantico, VA, was arrested last May for giving a classified video to the Wikileaks website, and later it became clear that he had given them thousands of other military documents. He is an open homosexual, and his anger at the military's rejection of homosexuality appears to be the major reason for his actions.

While in the Army, Manning has openly participated in gay rights marches, even publicly demonstrating against the military. In addition:

His Facebook page reportedly included a photo of him marching in a gay pride parade. His big interest was to "Repeal the Ban" on homosexuals serving openly in the military. He proclaimed his support for the National Center for Transgender Equality. He also talked about going to gay bars.
According to newspaper reports, he was prone to fits of rage. At one point Manning was demoted for assaulting an officer. He also wore custom dog tags labeling himself as "Humanist" (as his religious affiliation). And like many male homosexuals, Manning reportedly had a terrible relationship with his father, who had also been in the military and was divorced from his mother.
Manning was very upset over a breakup earlier this year with his homosexual lover, a student at Brandeis University who according to the New York Times described himself on his blog as a "drag queen."
The Montreal Gazette reported that "Manning could 'identify' with Iraqis and Afghans who he believed had suffered as a result of U.S. policies, especially because he himself was a "a member of a minority" treated unfairly by the military."

Manning said he spent 14-hour days copying the classified documents to send to the Wikileaks website.

As the Montreal Gazette reported,

Private Manning described how he downloaded the video and lip-synched to Lady Gaga as he copied hundreds of thousand of diplomatic cables.

"Hillary Clinton and several thousand diplomats around the world are going to have a heart attack," he boasted. But even as he professed a perhaps inflated sense of purpose, he called himself "emotionally fractured" and a "wreck" and said he was "self-medicating like crazy."

Not surprisingly, Manning has since been applauded on homosexual blogs and websites across the country.

General media blackout on Manning's "gay" issue

Except for a few newspaper accounts, the mainstream media in the US has completely ignored any "gay" aspect to this story, and especially his anti-military homosexual activism. To our knowledge, none of the major TV or cable network news programs have discussed it. (Though Glenn Beck did mention "he was jilted by a boyfriend or something." That's the same Glenn Beck that doesn't have a problem with homosexuality.)

For example, on Monday The Atlantic posted an article, "WikiLeaks: One Analyst, So Many Documents". It discusses Manning in some detail, but simply describes him as "a disaffected young man".

It's pretty strange, to say the least. One wonders what else the media refuse to report.

Army ignored its own policy

Ironically, a major issue with the Manning case is that the Army was ignoring its own policy on homosexuals serving openly.

Jonah Knox (a pseudonym used by a US Army analyst) points this out in a great article on the Accuracy in Media website this week:

Army regulation restricts leaders from determining (officially) if a soldier is a homosexual and therefore someone who should be discharged. For instance, AR 600-20, Paragraph 4-19, Subparagraph d(3) ("Noncredible information") details instances that are not considered grounds for Army leaders to open an inquiry to determine whether someone is a homosexual and therefore should be discharged. The Army regulation states that "noncredible information" includes, "The only information known is an associational activity, such as going to a gay bar, possessing or reading homosexual publications, associating with known homosexuals, or marching in a gay rights rally in civilian clothes."

In Manning's case, he had a Facebook page devoted to homosexual causes that included a photo of him marching in a gay pride parade. His associates said he went to gay bars and he talked openly about his homosexuality to others. Several have said that he was angry with the military because of the failure to repeal the homosexual exclusion policy. Incredibly, however, the Army may not have considered any of the credible evidence that he was a homosexual.

It is true that Army regulations on homosexuality create a lot of confusion. And that may be intentional based on current Department of Defense policy. The Center for Military Readiness (CMR) says this in its analysis of current Department of Defense policy.

In other words, had the Army been following the law (rather than the Clinton "Don't Ask" policy regulations), this would not have happened.

Incident reiterates reasons for excluding homosexuals from military

Most public health organizations (including the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health) have observed that homosexuals are far more susceptible to mental illness, alcoholism, drug abuse, and violence than the general population.

The inherent emotional weakness and moral instability of people involved in homosexual behaviors and its resulting possible damage to the military have been documented going back over 100 years.

Liberal Mass. state senator working with & raising money from Muslim coalition tied to pro-terrorism, jihad, anti-Semitism.

Massachusetts State Senator Jamie Eldridge, who is currently running for re-election, has been meeting with and is soliciting donations (and volunteer help) from a Muslim group with a long history of support of terrorism, jihad, and anti-Semitism. Its Massachusetts chapter is run by the well-known Muslim leader Tahir Ali, who has been working personally with Eldridge.

Ali's group currently calls itself the American Muslim Task Force. That umbrella group's membership list includes the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), both of which were named by the Justice Department in May 2007 as unindicted co-conspirators in the largest terrorist finance case in U.S. history.

In 2000 Tahir Ali organized a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in Boston. Mrs. Clinton (then running for U.S. Senate in New York) subsequently gave the money back after it was revealed that Ali's group, then known as the American Muslim Alliance (AMA), had openly supported Hamas and had co-sponsored a New York rally where Jews were categorized as "pigs and monkeys." The group had also defended the Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzug, who took credit when Hamas sprayed machine gun fire into a crowded Jerusalem mall in 1995. Writers Dick Morris and Eileen McGann describe this on the Fox News website.

Sen. Jamie Eldridge is not exactly a moderate. He describes himself as a "progressive" and has been endorsed by the Marxist-oriented Democratic Socialists of America as well as Planned Parenthood, MassEquality, and NARAL. He was a co-sponsor of the Transgender Rights and Hate Crimes Bill. He is currently running for re-election against a Republican challenger.

Eldridge's recent meeting with the American Muslim Task Force took place on September 26 in Shrewsbury. Meeting organizer Tahir Ali has subsequently bragged about the event in various Muslim websites. The meeting was also noted by a Muslim-watch group in England.

Jihad and anti-Semitism

Researcher David Horowitz describes the activities of the American Muslim Alliance, Tahir Ali's previous group, on his website DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

AMA is an active member of the American Muslim Political Coordinating Council. It also is affiliated with Muslim groups -- such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Public Affairs Council -- whose members have publicly supported Hamas and Hezbollah, or have been linked to the funding of terrorist activities. In 1998 AMA, along with CAIR and the American Muslim Council, sponsored a rally at Brooklyn College in New York City, where militant speakers advocated jihad and characterized Jews as "pigs and monkeys."

According to Steve Emerson, a well-known researcher specializing in militant Islamic organizations, the AMA's leaders "have sanctioned terrorism, published anti-Semitic statements, and repeatedly hosted conferences that were forums for denunciations of Jews and exhortions to wage jihad."

None of this seems to bother Jamie Eldridge, however.

Tahir Ali posts his report of meeting with Eldridge

Tahir Ali wrote a report of his meeting with Sen. Eldridge, bragging about his success. Ali has posted the report (with photos) on the "Pakistan Link" website and also on ikhwanophobia.com, an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood website. ("Ikhwan" means Muslim brothers.)

Ali's report has also been tracked on Muslim-watch websites in the United States and in Britain.

In his report of the meeting, Tahir Ali wrote:

Atif Harden couldn't have stressed the need to vote more; he declared, "Register to vote, never, never, never stop doing this. The beauty of this country and I can say that I can be the president of the United States."

Senator Eldridge said that he would love to see Muslim-Americans run for elections. "I'll help whoever wants to run."

The audience outlined the following pressing issues on their minds: Civil rights, Human rights, Profiling, Downward economy.

Dr. Mohammad Mushtaque, an attendee, was not too happy with the politicians (the likes of Gingrich and Palin) who in order to make campaign promises adopt scare tactics, and as they sow the seeds of hatred, extremists like the Florida Pastor get an excuse to disrespect or "threaten to burn" sacred scripts.

Senator Eldridge assured the community that as a "progressive Democrat", he shall stand by the American-Muslims . . .

One can see that Eldridge obviously has no problem with Ali or his organization. He obviously agrees with their outlook on America and appears to be eager to help the group achieve its goals.

Of course, Eldridge would never be so solicitous to a group of traditional-values, pro-family constituents.

Afterwards Eldridge sends letter to Tahir Ali soliciting donations & help

Even though Hillary Clinton was forced to give back her donations from Tahir Ali's radical group, Eldridge obviously feels he's above that. He clearly has no problem with Ali or his group's heinous, anti-Semitic, pro-terrorist background.

After the meeting, Eldridge sent the following letter to Tahir Ali soliciting donations and campaign help. Here is the letter in its entirety, which Ali proudly posted on the Web.

Dear Tahir,

I want to thank you and the American Muslim Task Force to inviting me to part of your organization's Town Hall forum on issues important to the Muslim-American community last night at India Kabob and Grill in Shrewsbury. I'm hoping you can pass on this message from me to all of the people who attended the forum last night, and the other members of the Task Force.

I really enjoyed the conversations with my fellow panelists and the audience on a wide range of concerns that were expressed, including civil rights, human rights, economic development, public education, and taxes.

I am very moved by the warm reception that I received, and was encouraged by the idea of creating a multi-cultural, multi-racial coalition to support the positions that I as a proud progressive Democrat are the foundation of my principles and beliefs. If I can be of any help in helping support the establishment of that coalition, please be in touch, and of course I hope to attend that meeting.

Arrogant attitude by Eldridge regarding group's past

This week a MassResistance volunteer who lives in Eldridge's district called his campaign office, spoke to a staffer, described the suspect connections of the group Eldridge had met with, and asked if the Senator had any explanation. The staffer declined to discuss it -- other than to say the Senator's goal is simply to protect all his constituents' "civil rights" -- and said he'd get back to the person. He never did.

A reporter from a national news website went to Senator Eldridge's office at the State House last week and asked to interview him about the letter he sent to Tahir. Eldridge's staffer accused him of "coming with an agenda" and refused to speak to him.

Wimpy Republicans. George Thompson, Eldridge's Republican opponent in next Tuesday's general election, apparently was scared off from bringing up the issue. When contacted and asked if he wanted to make any public comment, he rather tersely declined, citing Eldridge's "First Amendment Rights."

Given the fact that Eldridge's district has a not insignificant Jewish population, one would think that a state senator running for re-election would be a little hesitant to get involved with a group with such horrible anti-Semitic baggage.

But Jamie Eldridge is an extremely arrogant "progressive" who holds his obsessive beliefs in "multiculturalism" beyond normal politics or any mainstream American sentiment. After all, this is Massachusetts.

And on election day he'll probably beat his hapless Republican challenger.

Ignored by Boston mainstream media

On Sunday, the Boston Globe did an article on the race between Eldridge and George Thompson. The article covered a lot of ground, but completely left out any mention of this. Nor has State House News, the Herald, or any other mainstream media outlet covered this. Hmmm. Why are we not surprised?

Daycare Travesty Repeated Daily

I always found the concept of daycare repugnant. My mother was a stay at home saint, sacrificing career and increased wealth for the good of her children. She was always there for us, attending to our bumps and bruises, our triumphs and failures. Dad carried the wage earning load. He did fine.

When I was young, putting children in daycare was rare. Now it's a billion dollar industry and as commonplace as buying a new car.

So what goes on at daycare and how are today's children faring. I took a close look and what I found was troubling.

A female co-worker provided my first glimpse of some troubling trends. After giving birth she couldn't wait to get her son into daycare as quickly as 3 weeks after his birth. Then, when her next vacation came up, she continued to drop him off each day so she "could get more done". The idea left me cold. Now I know someone who works at daycare and says that is very common.

She says mothers routinely drop the kids off while they take a day off and go shopping. Likewise, when Dad shows up in plaid pants, a golf shirt and cap you know where he's headed. "If you need me call my cell, I'll be at the..."

Equally disturbing is the lack of warmth when picking children up at the end of the day. With the days workload still churning in their minds, it doesn't even occur to these people to ask the child how their day was or give them a hug. Nor do they inquire of the caregivers how the child did that day. They just lead them to the car and stick them in their seats with all the emotion of a delivery truck driver. That the revolving door of overstressed daycare workers means many different folks, many in training, watch the kids, seems to be of little concern.

Not all are like that. Some hire nannies to drop off and pick up the kids and watch them through the weekend as well. It's a wonder the kids even know who their parents are. One dad was repulsed when he realized his child was sucking on another's pacifier. The daycare workers kind of shrugged and thought "if he only knew what these kids pass around on a given day."

Then there's the illness deception trick. Since they know you shouldn't drop a child off with a fever, they stuff the little kids with Tylenol so as to avoid detection for a couple of hours until mom is safely at her desk. "What? Johnny has a fever? He was fine this morning!" But the daycare providers have seen the pattern enough to know the exact amount of time Tylenol holds off a fever. They ask the older kids "what color pill did mommy give you today? Was it pink?" Mom and Dad aren't fooling anyone. They're just hoping the call comes late enough that they can stall their way to the end of their workday.

Career women aren't quite as nurturing as they think sometimes. Nor as bright. One Ivy League professor type stopped to instruct a daycare worker how she wanted the child's clothes changed midway through the day so that the first half day's clothes could be preserved in case the child ever turned up missing or lost. The woman provided a plastic bag to deposit the clothing in. This isn't something that couldn't be handled at home? You don't routinely have such clothing articles around? What, do you do laundry every night?

Some stories are sadder. Like the premature boy who was sent off to daycare with an oxygen mask only 7 months after being born months premature. "It's OK to remove the mask when you change him," mother explained. But when the 20-something daycare worker tried that the boy began to turn blue. So they decided to leave it on. This is a daycare center, not a medical facility. What kind of parents drop a child off in that shape for the day at a totally unqualified facility?

Then there are the kids who show up with other suspicious conditions or injuries. It should be no surprise that some percentage of these kids aren't loved and suffer neglect.

There are truly hardship cases where professional daycare is needed. But in most cases daycare is the option for the upwardly mobile, those who value things and places over children. Could you do without a few things in order to spend time nurturing your own child? If you didn't want children, why'd you get married and have them?

My wife left her job when we had our first child and has been home for the birth and rearing of all 7. Has it been hard at times? Do we sacrifice some things? Sure. But isn't that what marriage and family are supposed to be about in the first place?

What kind of rude, self-centered drones are we thrusting on the world? Ones whose first memories are that their parents didn't love them enough to spend time raising them.

My mom passed away less than a year ago. her birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday mom.

Sorry Charlie, Not This Time.

Massachusetts has once again gone against the tide. This time, instead of firing the shot heard 'round the world, as in Revolutionary times, they backfired. In nominating Charlie Baker, a prototypical RINO, they have defied the national rightward trend and instead chosen as liberal a candidate as any Democrat.

But then, why wouldn't they? Republicans have no champions in the local media, save for talk radio. The Boston Globe is to the Massachusetts Democratic party what Pravda was for the Soviet Communists.

In an attempt to attenuate the criticism the Globe will heap on him, Baker selected as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor, Richard Tisei, author of the Massachusetts version of the "Bathroom Bill", aka "Transgender Rights and Hate Crimes" bill (H1728). This put Baker in the awkward position of trying to both embrace his openly gay running mate to gain the support of the pro-family delegates who supported pro-choice Scott Brown, and distance himself from the bill. So Baker put out some sort of statement that he would veto the bill his own running mate was sponsoring which begs the question, why did he pick him in the first place?

But then nothing ever makes much sense in the MassGOP. After all, this state elected Mitt Romney as governor and watched as he enacted both "gay marriage" and Romneycare which has driven health insurance costs through the roof, added to waiting lines at emergency rooms, includes an individual mandate, and was used as the model for Obamacare, opposition to which got Scott Brown elected Senator. Follow me?

There was a Tea Party in Boston a few weeks ago headlined by Sarah Palin. Charlie Baker was so far to the west, he was closer to Albany, NY than Boston. Which is a good metaphor for his ideology. There is no Tea Party candidate in Massachusetts, a historical irony if ever there was one.

So unlike the multitude of lemmings that will vote for Baker simply because he's not Deval Patrick, I'm sitting this one out. Some might say, hey, he's a fiscal conservative and that's better than what we have now. I don't buy it. Maybe pocketbook issues are important enough to some people but my feeling is that government that isn't moral will continue to rob you blind> Just changing the names of the special interests that get the handouts isn't reform. Government that doesn't recognize the right of each citizen to live and breathe and lhave a normal family is bad government.

The next they're going to tell us that we should vote for Mitt Romney for president because "he's not Barack Obama". We already played that game and lost. Romney may not be Barack Obama but he's pretty close to John McCain. And to use a worn out phrase from the last election, lipstick on a pig doesn't cut it.

No to Baker. no to Romney.

"Bush did it too." This got me to thinking. Has Obama really brought change to Washington as he promised? Or is he really just another lackey from the same school as Bush? Take a look at this chart. All Roads Lead to Tehran

While the Obama administration shrinks from its lofty rhetoric about dealing with Iran and instead tries to force peace in the Middle East through Israeli concessions, it has become clear that Iran is the key to peace, not Israel.

In Iraq, the lingering insurgency is mostly an Iran-backed terror campaign designed to influence the government and to weaken the US. For years it has been reported that the sophisticated IED's in use in Iraq are Iranian made. Further, Iranian money surely fuels the violence.

Likewise in Lebanon, instability comes from Hezbollah, an Iranian proxy set up to strike any foe anywhere but centered in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. Hezbollah not only keeps Lebanon as a terror state but launches raids against Israel, including the one that led to the Israeli-Lebanese War. The UN brokered cease fire demanded that Hezbollah disarm. They're still laughing at that one as they rearm under the distracted eyes of UN "peacekeepers".

In Gaza, Hamas, another Iranian proxy keeps the Palestinian conflict alive with continued violence either directed against Israeli patrols or civilian targets with their thousands of Iranian made rockets.

And as the US and NATO troops are well aware, there is an Iranian connection in Afghanistan as well. Iranian made weapons are being used by the Taliban and Al Qaeda to kill US and NATO troops, keeping Afghanistan from ever emerging from continuous violence.

Obama can lean on Israel all he wants. The nexus of violence in the Middle East isn't in Tel Aviv. It is in Tehran. And until Obama realizes that and acts against the increasing Iranian threat, there will be no peace.

This summer, as the troop buildup continues in Afghanistan and the troops have yet to depart Iraq, Obama will have Iran completely surrounded with over one hundred thousand troops on each side and two aircraft battle groups on Iran's front steps in the Persian Gulf. If ever there was a time to exert the might and power of the US, it will be at this time.

Peace will only come to the Middle East once the Ayatollahs and their forces are removed from Iranian life. It's up to Obama to act.

The Healthcare Fantasy by Niki Tsongas

If you want to peek into the world of make believe that today's left wing Congressman lives in, then read the letter below from US Representative Nik Tsongas, Massachusetts 5th Congressional District. The first thing you will notice is it's a form letter that in no way addresses whatever concern the constituent had. You can't tell if she's writing to a supporter or detractor of the bill.

Thank you for being in touch with me about health care reform and for taking the time to share your personal interest in this issue. I know how strongly people feel about this subject, and I've heard compelling stories from people in support and opposed to the legislation we have been debating over the past year and a half. I want to take this opportunity to explain my vote on Sunday, March 21st, in favor of health care reform.

Next she talks about the great care her husband, late Senator Paul Tsongas got as a result of his government healthcare for life benefit. She never mentions that the bill she voted for doesn't have the same benefit for us peasants that the royalty reserves for itself.

I know firsthand how providing access to affordable health care isn't a political issue, but a deeply personal one for every family. My late husband Paul waged a long, courageous fight against cancer. During that time, our family had the benefit of excellent care from extraordinarily able and dedicated professionals. I understand the fear and helplessness so many feel when faced with an illness in their family. But I have also experienced the hope our health care system can offer and shudder to think what our experience might have been if our family had been uninsured. I ran for Congress over two years ago because I believe that every American deserves access to the same level of high quality care that my family received. On Sunday, we took a step toward making that a reality.

Now she goes into how important it was to "rein in exploding healthcare costs" but never mentions what provisions of the bill do that because there aren't any.

For the last year and a half, Congress has been debating the best way to reform our broken health care system. This effort was born out of the reality that if nothing is done to rein in exploding health care costs, increasing numbers of families will no longer be able to afford coverage, businesses will no longer be able to offer health insurance to their employees, and our unsustainable deficits and long-term debt will continue to grow. These realities will compromise our country's future competitiveness, and perhaps most importantly, our own health and well-being. This debate about how best to address problems with our health care system has also been echoed at town hall meetings, diners and coffee shops, and at kitchen tables across the country.

Next she talks about how she spoke with as many residents of her district as possible but again leaves out that her town hall meetings were closed and held during the evening commute so as few people as possible could attend. More likely she met with as many union leaders, insurance executives and Planned parenthood operators as she could.

I have made it a point to talk with as many Fifth District residents as possible and sought their input and views over the past 15 months. Through my Congress On Your Corner program which has taken me to every corner of our district, at town hall meetings, during meetings in each of my offices, and in regular visits to the communities that I represent, I have had literally thousands of conversations with those I represent on this subject.

Here she talks about people in her district being denied coverage because of preexisting conditions. Really? I though under the Massachusetts healthcare law, Romneycare, insurance companies couldn't deny coverage based on preexisting conditions. As well, all her constituents are required by law to have coverage.

I have heard from small business owners about how the cost of health care is preventing them from expanding their business and forcing them to seriously consider laying off workers just to make ends meet. I have talked with Fifth District residents who have been denied coverage based on a preexisting medical condition and the painful consequences of not having access to medical care as a result. I have met with seniors who cannot afford the prescription drugs that they need to stay healthy. I have met with doctors and nurses who would like nothing better than to be able to provide care to their patients based on their medical needs, not on what their insurance plan covers. I have heard from residents who simply want to keep the plan and doctor that they currently have. And, I heard from one of the district's major employers who said providing health care for all Americans is a moral necessity.

Because this health care reform legislation addresses these many problems and accomplishes many of the goals that I believe are essential to making our system of health care more affordable, accessible and sustainable, I voted to support it.

Again, none of these "facts" Tsongas presents below apply to Massachusetts.

I have heard from many of you who have been concerned about the rising cost of healthcare, and who have wanted to know how this bill addresses that issue. In fact, the bill takes several critical steps to address our system's out of control costs. First, by requiring insurance companies to cover, with no extra charge, routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms, colonoscopies, and routine vaccinations. For example, if a senior chooses not to get a mammogram because she could not afford it, or because it was not covered in her insurance plan, she is at greater risk of developing breast cancer and letting that cancer grow, unchecked, requiring even more expensive and potentially less effective care later on. We can avoid these additional costs and this unnecessary suffering by providing access to preventive care.

Nothing in here about the review boards or about the cap on Medicare payments that force doctors to leave the program. And how will care be affected by the half a billion dollars in cuts to Medicare that the bill included as a phony way to appear deficit neutral?

The bill helps move towards a system in which we pay doctors for the quality of care they provide, rather than the number of tests and procedures they perform. It invests in electronic health records, which will avoid the cost of duplicative tests and treatments. And it makes use of comparative effectiveness research - which will help doctors ensure that patients get the best care possible.

Here Ms. Tsongas talks about how forcing healthy people to buy insurance will lower premiums for everyone. But in Massachusetts, where such a program is in effect, premiums rose faster than any other state.

It reduces the growing cost of health care premiums and co-pays by ensuring that health insurers cannot implement excessive rate increases, and requires them to spend at least 85% of premiums on providing consumers with additional benefits, rather than on profits and overhead costs. By permitting young Americans to stay on their parents plan until the age of 26, the bill will provide them with increased financial flexibility at a time in their lives when insurance is often difficult to afford or is not offered by their employers. This will also bring millions of healthy individuals into the system, which will place downward pressure on premiums.

Ever heard of Medicare plan B? What about Medicare Advantage, the program that closed the "donut hole" until it was abolished by this bill. Glad you brought up AARP. How much does AARP get for their insurance in reward for supporting Obamacare?

I have heard from many seniors who have been unable to afford their prescription medications, and who have been forced, as a result, to dip into their social security checks and their savings in order to afford those medications. Approximately 6 million seniors - 7,400 of whom live in the Fifth District - currently fall into the Medicare 'donut hole', the gap in which prescription drugs are not covered. This bill ensures those seniors will see that gap in coverage completely closed over time. In fact, seniors who fall into the donut hole this year will see a $250 check in the mail this September to help pay for their drug costs, which will provide temporary relief. Contrary to what some critics have claimed, the bill does not reduce Medicare benefits in any way; in fact, the improvements made to Medicare strengthen the program for today's seniors and future generations and are why the bill has garnered the support of the AARP.

Women are uniquely impacted by our broken health care system, and this bill enacts reforms that will have a tremendously positive effect on the lives of women all over our country. It prohibits the practice of 'gender rating', in which insurers can charge women many times more in premiums than their male counterparts, often for less comprehensive coverage. It prohibits discrimination based on so-called 'pre-existing conditions' such as a history of domestic violence or cesarean sections. And it prohibits insurers from denying maternity care to a woman who is already pregnant.

Small businesses across Massachusetts report that they cannot hire more workers or expand due to the requirement to purchase insurance and the costs that get passed onto them. nice try though.

Small businesses are not required to offer health insurance to their employees under this bill, but for those who do, they will have access to an Exchange where they can shop for plans that will be much less expensive than what is currently offered. This is because insurers will be forced to compete for their business in a transparent manner, and because they will be able to band together and use their collective purchasing power to get low-cost, high quality plans much like large employers have access to now. Small businesses will also be eligible for a tax credit to pay for 50% of the cost of premiums for their employees. This is not something that is currently available to small businesses in Massachusetts, and is an added benefit because of national health care reform.

Huh?

Many of you have asked about how this bill will benefit Massachusetts, given that the Commonwealth has already enacted reform of its own. In fact, the bill holds many benefits that will directly impact residents in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Many middle class families who do not currently qualify for subsidies through the Commonwealth Connector will qualify because of national reform. For example, a family of three making up to $73,240 a year will be eligible for subsidies that will make insurance more affordable for them. Insurers in Massachusetts will no longer be allowed to implement lifetime or annual caps on benefits, ensuring that all residents of the Commonwealth can count on their insurance no matter how sick they get or how seriously they need to see a doctor. This legislation invests in more primary care doctors and nurses, which ensures that there are more providers available to care for patients in our state. Small businesses in the Commonwealth who offer health insurance to their employees will be eligible for a tax credit to pay for the cost of that coverage. Many of the cost control mechanisms in this legislation had to be put in place at the national level in order to bring down costs down in our state. Finally, Massachusetts taxpayers will no longer have to pay for the emergency care that uninsured patients across the country currently receive.

98% of Massachusetts residents have health insurance. That is a higher percentage than the country will have AFTER enactment of this horrid bill.

While access to care is not a pervasive problem in Massachusetts, tens of millions of Americans do not have health care coverage they can afford and that number increases by 14,000 every day. The legislation takes significant steps towards covering all Americans, while enabling anyone happy with their current plan to keep it, facts which have earned it the endorsement of the American Medical Association, Alliance for Retired Americans, Consumers Union, Families USA, Massachusetts Medical Society, and many other leading health care provider and patient advocacy groups.

And here's the biggest lie. Just today, CBO admitted they missed the estimate of solvency for Social Security by six years and this year it will run at a deficit. They missed the original estimate of the cost of Medicare by a factor of 12. Closer to home, we had a project called the "Big Dig" that was estimated at $1.4B and came in at over $14 not counting the liability for shoddy work that has already killed people. The republicans had proposals for competition, for tort reform and other measures that focused on cost. The Democrats ignored them all.

Many of you have expressed concerns around taking on this effort because of its cost, and asked me how our nation can afford such an undertaking at a time when our deficit is at a historic high. One of the reasons I supported health care reform is because I believe that reform is critical to reducing our deficit, and necessary to ensure our nation's long term economic prosperity. Health care premiums are growing faster than wages, and health care costs are projected to eat up more and more of our nation's budget if we don't get them under control. If we do not enact reforms now, at this critical moment, our deficit problems will only get worse.

This phony estimate is only because the doctor fix was kept separate and when included sinks this bill into deficit. That is the same tacxtic Mr. Change You Can Believe In said Bush did to hide war costs by keeping them off budget.

I stated when health care reform was first being crafted that it should not add to our debt and deficit. Not only is this bill fully paid for, it cuts the federal deficit by more than $143 billion dollars over the course of the next 10 years, and reduces it by another $1.2 trillion in the decade that follows according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. Additionally, more than 40 of the nation's leading economists - including three winners of the Nobel Prize - signed a letter urging the swift passage of comprehensive health reform to slow 'unsustainable' health care spending facing our country.

So Niki is unhappy that a public option for a complete government takeover of healthcare wasn't included and that there are restrictions on baby killing. Abortion is the only healthcare procedure where two otherwise healthy people go in, one is killed and the other comes out with an increased risk of breast cancer, infertility, internal bleeding, and lifelong depression. And to femi-nazis like Tsongas, that's healthcare.

As with any undertaking of this magnitude, the legislation is not perfect. I was disappointed that attempts to add a public option, which would have further lowered health care costs and increased competition, were unsuccessful. And, this legislation unfortunately contains hurdles that place unnecessary restrictions on a woman's reproductive rights.

But, overall, I strongly believe that this bill succeeds in expanding access to health care, takes many commonsense steps to rein in health care costs, and reflects so many of the concerns that my constituents have raised with our current health care system. It is for these reasons that I voted in support of this historic legislation.

What's the point of writing to this politician? She has a tin ear. All you get back is a Mother-Knows-Best form letter. thanks for nothing!

How the Democrats Win in November

So how do the Democrats hold onto power despite passing the wildly unpopular healthcare reform law? Do you think they'll just give up their majorities and the presidency and call it a day, proud of their accomplishment?

I don't think so. How did they get into power in the first place? Well it took the usual alliance of the media and the DNC propagating the myth that the Iraq War was a failure combined with their hammering the Republicans over their irresponsible spending and deficits. But with the GOP rendered irrelevant, a new tactic or set of tactics will be needed to hold onto power and don't for a minute think it hasn't all been worked out.

The legislative agenda of the far left begins with health care but doesn't end there. Next up is banking "reform," the continued nationalization of the centers of financial power. TARP was just a warning shot. What comes next will make TARP a distant memory. With control of the lending institutions, money will flow freely into Democratic campaign coffers through special interests like MoveOn.org, Center for American Progress, ACORN, etc.

Even now, immigration reform is heating up again. The Democrats will try to not only grant amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens but also speed their path to citizenship. At the same time, they will continue to fight GOP efforts at requiring any identification or proof of citizenship at the polls. As presidential races are typically decided by 1-2 million votes, the Democrats will count on the gratitude of the new citizens to keep them in power.

Per Rush Limbaugh:
"He has come to divide. He has come to conquer. He hasn't failed. He has succeeded," Limbaugh said. "The Democrat Party has been co-opted and is being led by a far-leftist faction who admire and envy people like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro."
Then he explained what be believes Obama's next move will be: padding voter rolls.
"The next thing that's going to happen is a major push for comprehensive immigration reform. It will be called amnesty," said Limbaugh. "None of this should have been a mystery to anybody.

Think ACORN is dead? Maybe in name but not in practice. ACORN will morph into decentralized community agitators in time for the Fall elections and continue their fraudulent voter registration drives. Where will they get the money? Why from banks more than happy to lend to them while under government control. And manpower? With 17% real unemployment, they won't have trouble recruiting low level staffers like the ones in the famous O'Keefe videos.

Where else do the Dems need to shore up support? The unions. union rank and file have drifted from the Democrats and voted for Scott Brown in Massachusetts. But with the Card Check Bill sure to get revived before November, there will be thousands if not millions more workers added to the union rolls, many of them illegals or new citizens under amnesty.

The GOP has the wind at its back in terms of voter discontent and unease at the left wing takeover of the government. But the Democrats have the cunning and strategy to remain in power. And if there is one thing Washington politicians are good at, its finding ways to cling to power.

Turkey: Our Lone Islamic Ally?

The linked article implies Turkey is so offended by the US Congress' vote to call the Armenian genocide a genocide that they will now back Iran in its dispute over nuclear weapons development. So much for Obama restoring the US' reputation in the world.

Turkey has long been considered an ally in the Islamic world, a so-called secular state with modern leaning tendencies. But beneath the surface lies an uneasy truth. Turkey is closer to the terror supporting states of Islam than to the west.

Indeed there was a little covered pivot point in relations with the former Ottomans at the outset of the Iraq invasion. Many have forgotten the brilliant invasion plan devised by Donald Rumsfeld and the military chiefs. There would be a three pronged pincer attack with Baghdad in the middle. The Marines and special forces would attack from the west where they had been positioned well before the official invasion. The 3rd Infantry Division would deploy from Kuwait in the south and march northward. And the 4th Infantry Division would meet them both as they descended from Turkey in the north. There would be no escape routes for dictators or their foreign enablers from Russia and China.

Kuwait's participation was a sure thing. Their gratitude for their liberation from Saddam Hussein's 1990 invasion ensured complete cooperation. It was up to Secretary of State Colin Powell to secure Turkey's approval to offload and deploy the 4th ID. Turkey it was assumed would be more than cooperative as they would be offered a massive influx of foreign aid and support for their entry into the EU common market. They also were a NATO member and it was assumed they would want to show their loyalty to the alliance. The US would also suppress Kurdish unrest and cross border raids.

But in perhaps the greatest diplomatic defeat in history, Powell failed to convince the Turks that allowing the US to offload and deploy on their soil was in their best interest.

The result was disastrous. While Powell and Rumsfeld and Co. tried to paint a rosy face on the debacle, the lack of a Northern invasion allowed many of Saddam Hussein's government and military to escape to Syria and Iran where they would evade capture and plan the insurgency that cost countless Iraqi and coalition lives over the next several years. Turkey, seeing the weakness and distraction of the forces in the Kurdish area mounted many cross border raids into Iraq. Documents detailing foreign involvement in breaking UN sanctions and in weapons programs were spirited out of the country hopelessly damaging US prestige and credibility.

And now Turkey is upset at the US over the genocide resolution? So much so that they're willing to set aside ancient and serious animosities with the Persians?

I think its time to exert a substantial amount of pressure on the Turks to remind them of their place in the modern world. They have a choice to make. They can continue to feign secularism and participate in the benefits of the world economy or they can join Iran in isolation and fall victim to the extremists that up to now they have successfully kept in check.

Congress was right to call the genocide for what it was. And to view Turkey as little more than an historical footnote, the seat of a once vast and aggressive Islamic empire.

Ally? I don't think so.

Ann Coulter on NY ACORN Finding

It looks like Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes is on track to win another endorsement from ACORN!

This week, Hynes announced that "no criminality has been found" after his investigation of the videotapes made by investigative journalists James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, which show ACORN employees counseling the pair on getting a mortgage for a house of prostitution.

(They got a choice of government loans: Phat Fannie Mae, Prince Freddie Mac or Barney Fresh Daddy Frank ... aka "Sir Fix-A-Lot.")

I'm just glad to know that Hynes conducted a thorough "investigation" first. Who did he have screen the videotapes, Gov. Paterson?

If his investigators had actually watched the videotapes, they would have found ACORN employees apparently advising a pimp and prostitute on how to defraud mortgage lenders, deposit prostitution money in a bank, hide money from the government and avoid detection while running a whorehouse with teenage girls from El Salvador.

I'm not a lawyer – oh, wait, yes, I am – but I count approximately a half-dozen state-law crimes being discussed on those tapes, from money laundering to advancing prostitution.

In a "Eureka" moment, ACORN Employee-of-the-Month Volda Albert identifies for O'Keefe and Giles the problem they had been having getting a mortgage:

Albert: Um, is it legalized? Is prostitution legalized in New York state?
O'Keefe: It's not. It's not, unfortunately.
Albert: Well see, that's your problem.

As ACORN employee Milagros Rivera said, "You can't say what you do for a living because of the law." But displaying ACORN's can-do attitude, she explained: "Honest is not going to get you a house."

ACORN employees helped concoct a scheme to hide from the lender the source of O'Keefe and Giles' down-payment money. Albert suggested that O'Keefe "pay a down payment – or (Giles) can transfer to somebody else, who is not in thatbusiness ... a close friend, then (Giles) can transfer that, and then he can give you, like, a gift to purchase."

Under New York law, hiding the true source of down-payment money from a lender constitutes mortgage fraud. Also, using the proceeds of criminal conduct in any banking transaction is money laundering.

Does anybody need a flow chart at this point, or should I continue?

To help Giles hide her income from turning tricks, ACORN employee Albert advised Giles to open two bankingaccounts, depositing no more than $500 per week in each one. (This would not only enable her to conceal her illegal earnings, it would also qualify her for free checking.)

But Albert's most inspired idea was that Giles get a "house with a backyard. You get a tin can ... and bury (your money) down in there, and you put the money right in, and you put grass over it, and you don't tell a single soul but yourself where it is."

Back when I was in Louisiana, we advised people to put their illegal money in the freezer, but that didn't work out so well. And I guess putting your money in a mattress isn't advisable if you live in a whorehouse.

Anyway, Albert was particularly detailed on the tin-can-in-the-backyard investment plan: "Keep thinking: 'I have a yard. I have a house.' You gotta start coming out with, like, plants and you start doing – so it won't be suspicious. You start buying plants for the backyard in pots and what have you, and you mark a spot."

She later told Giles: "You are not paying Social Security, so you'll have society, all right? You are not getting a pension, so you need to save that money for in later years." ACORN: Helping Plan Your Financial Future.

If only shady lawyers advised clients to bury money in cans in their backyards, instead of putting it in tax shelters, we wouldn't have all those attorneys clogging up prison cells!

The ACORN employees also stressed that Giles should do nothing to attract attention to her prostitution money. Albert said: "You can buy a decent car for yourself, no big fancy thing to attract people, all right?"

In Albert's defense, this could have been common etiquette advice. No one likes a showy hooker.

Even after Giles explained her plan to house a "slew" of 13-, 14- and 15-year-old girls from El Salvador for her prostitution business, Rivera simply responded: "So you guys ready to schedule that (mortgage application) for the summer?"

Rivera clearly missed her calling – she should be pushing vacation time shares in Boca Raton beach condos.

Under New York law, a person is guilty of advancing prostitution if he: "knowingly ... aids a person to commit or engage in prostitution (or) ... engages in any other conduct designed to institute, aid or facilitate an act or enterprise of prostitution."

It is a class D felony (up to seven years in prison) if the prostitute is under 19 years old – as the ACORN employees knew Giles was – and a class C felony (up to 15 years in prison) if the prostitute is under 16 years old – as Giles stated the El Salvadoran girls were. (And if she's under 15 years old, Eliot Spitzer may be involved.)

Judge Says God Can Stay in American Schools

Federal Judge: Teacher Has Constitutional Right to Display Patriotic Banners that Mention “God” in Classroom

ANN ARBOR, MI – California Federal District Court Judge Roger T. Benitez ruled late this past Friday that the Poway Unified School District in San Diego, CA, violated math teacher Bradley Johnson’s constitutional rights when it ordered him to remove two patriotic banners from the walls of his classroom because they “over-emphasized” God. [Decision attached]

The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, filed the federal lawsuit on Johnson’s behalf, after the school district ordered him to take down his banners in January 2007.

The two banners are approximately seven feet wide and two feet tall and contain phrases that highlight our Nation’s history and religious heritage.

One banner with red, white, and blue stripes hung on the wall for twenty-five years and displayed the famous patriotic phrases: “In God We Trust, ” “One Nation Under God, ” “God Bless America, ” and “God Shed His Grace on Thee.”

The second banner, which had been displayed for seventeen years, contained an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence: “All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed By Their Creator.” One school official justified the ban by claiming a Muslim student might be offended by the slogans.

That school officials banned Johnson’s patriotic displays while permitting other teachers to display personal posters and banners promoting partisan political issues such as gay rights and environmental causes, including global warming, played a crucial role in the Judge’s decision.

These displays included: a 35 to 40 foot string of Tibetan prayer flags with images of Buddha; a poster with the lyrics from John Lennon’s song “Imagine, ” which starts off, Imagine there’s no Heaven; a poster with Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi’s “7 Social Sins;” a poster of Muslim leader Malcolm X, and a poster of Buddhist leader Dali Lama.

Judge Benitez’s 32-page opinion was strongly worded and critical of the Poway school districts aversion to mentioning God: “[The school district officials] apparently fear their students are incapable of dealing with diverse viewpoints that include God’s place in American history and culture. . . . That God places prominently in our Nation’s history does not create an Establishment Clause violation requiring curettage and disinfectant for Johnson’s public high school classroom walls. It is a matter of historical fact that our institutions and government actors have in past and present times given place to a supreme God.”

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel for the Law Center, commented, “Many school officials exhibit hostility towards our nation’s Christian heritage. Yet, these same officials see no problem in actively promoting atheism or other religions under the guise of cultural diversity and tolerance. Hopefully, Judge Benitez’s decision will help put an end to this double standard. It is the responsibility of our public schools to educate students on the crucial role Christianity played in our Nation’s founding.”

In his ruling, Judge Benitez acknowledged that public schools provide students with a healthy exposure to diverse ideas and opinions. He then went on to rule, “Fostering diversity, however, does not mean bleaching out historical religious expression or mainstream morality. By squelching only Johnson’s patriotic and religious classroom banners, while permitting other diverse religious and anti-religious classroom displays, the school district does a disservice to the students of Westview High School and the federal and state constitutions do not permit this one-sided censorship.”

In response to the school district’s claim that Johnson’s patriotic banners might make a Muslim student uncomfortable, Judge Benitez stated, “n imaginary Islamic student is not entitled to a heckler’s veto on a teacher’s passive, popular or unpopular expression about God’s place in the history of the United States.” And the judge flatly rejected the school district’s argument that Tibetan prayer flags were permissible because they were decorative, describing the argument as “a transparent pretext.”

Judge Benitez concluded that Johnson was entitled to a declaration that the school district violated his individual rights protected by the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution, and Article I, §§ 2 and 4 of the California Constitution. He ordered the school district to pay nominal damages and Johnson’s attorney’s fees and costs. And he ordered the school district “to permit Johnson to immediately re-display, in his assigned classroom, the two banners at issue in this case.” Johnson returned the displays to his classroom that same day.

Robert Muise, the Thomas More Law Center Senior Trial Counsel handling the case, commented, “Judge Benitez’s strong opinion sends a clear message to school districts across the country that hostility toward our Nation’s religious heritage is contrary to our constitution. Indeed, it was refreshing to read an opinion that does justice to our Nation’s history, rather than rewrite it.”

Rep. Ryan Puts Dagger into Heart of Obamacare

That this bogus sideshow was never about listening to each other or about compromise was never made more clear than when Rep. Ryan gave this detailed analysis of the costs of the Senate bill. Note how at the conclusion of his talk, Obama quickly moves to change the subject. The last thing the Democrats wanted was a discussion on the facts. Instead they rolled out all the sob stories they could find on how the evil insurance companies worked people over.

The Republicans are now in a political win-win situation. If the bill passes, it will be a massive failure and only the Democrats will have voted for it. If it doesn't pass it will be a huge political defeat for the Democrats who wasted a year in hearings and legislative sessions on a bill that nobody wants, does not rescue the economy, does not create jobs, does not make the nation safer and blows the budget for a generation to come.

Something Dirty in Holder's Justice Department

I previously wrote about the Eric Holder's handling of terorism and the troubling issues it raises in Holder is a big problem. My point was that he had worked for a law firm that defended GITMO detainees and may have a conflict of interest when it comes to the prosecution of terror suspects.

Now we learn that the Justice Department has hired 9 other attorneys who defended terror suspects. And Holder refuses to name them.

Byron York reports in the Washington Examiner that:

"At a hearing three months ago, Sen. Charles Grassley raised the possibility of a conflict with Attorney General Eric Holder.

Grassley, a senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, posed three simple questions: Who are they, who did they represent, and what are their duties at the Justice Department today?

At the time, Grassley knew from press reports that two high-ranking department officials now working on detainee issues had previously worked for detainees: Principal Deputy Solicitor General Neal Katyal once represented Osama bin Laden's driver, and Jennifer Daskal, an official in the National Security Division, worked on behalf of detainees at the liberal organization Human Rights Watch.

"This prior representation, I think, creates a conflict of interest problem for these individuals," Grassley said, asking Holder to supply the names of all political appointees who had represented or advocated for detainees, the cases they worked on, and their terror-related responsibilities in the Justice Department."

This pattern from Eric Holder shows contempt for process and the American people who's representatives are tasked with oversight of the Executive Branch. It is an abuse of power to simply fail to comply with Congressional requests such as Sen. Grassley has made.

Holder is a dangerous loose cannon. But don't look for him to removed anytime soon. He carries out the wishes of his master just fine.

I nearly jumped out of my chair watching the debate on Bill O'Reilly's show last night between Joe Bastardi and Bill Nye. A quick search of the web tells me I wasn't alone. Nye got his lunch eaten. When I get the video, I'll post it here. Fox knows they have something good so it's not released for distribution yet.

First of all, when somebody starts their interview on global warming with either the phrase "the evidence is overwhelming" or "the science is settled" or "all scientists agree" they've lost the argument. Next, Nye relies on data from the IPCC even as daily revelations of fraud, distortion and just plain badly biased science leak out of there on a daily basis.

With his first chart and explanation, Bastardi takes down the whole bogus global warming argument with well spoken and researched facts about normal climate cycles.

First he shows that he accurately predicted the harsh winter of 2009-2010 that global warming fanatics are blaming on man-made CO2 emissions:

Nye is left with the usual dribble about CO2 and man's impact on the environment even as Bastardi shows the statistical correlation being weakest for that cause:

Now I'm a bit of a statistical nut and looking at these numbers I'd say the chances of CO2 causing climate change is about as strong as concluding that bugs cause cracks in roads because I see them on roads with cracks. And that's a good summary of the AGW crowd - a bunch of crackpots.

Who Will Lead?

OK. I enjoyed the Glenn Beck speech at CPAC as much as any I've listened to in a long time - maybe since Rush Limbaugh's speech there last year. But that's the problem. I'm waiting for a real leader to emerge who push these ideas forward. Someone who understands that the political establishment is ripping us off for their own gain. But the only leaders stepping up are radio and TV personalities.

I get it when the Tea Party folks say they are not about personalities and that a single leader will not emerge from that. The problem is that someone will step in and fill the leadership void created by their movement.

Do we want to see another John McCain as the lesser of two evils option for President of the United States? The array of candidates that seems to be lining up is the same group we picked from last time. Each has enough warts on key issues like immigration, health care, spending, life, or national security to be disqualified from consideration.

I mean, seriously has anyone actually looked at Mitt Romney's record as governor of Massachusetts? On social issues he's to the left of most Democrats.

Beck is right. The Republicans blew it and do not deserve another shot at leading. Not until the big spenders and phonies that destroyed our economy last time are all gone. Otherwise, you're just voting for a wolf in sheep's clothing instead of a wolf.

You can't make this stuff up. I don't know if the writer of this article intended satire but that's how it came across. Start with the opening paragraphs:

The big underlying story is why the National Intelligence Estimate missed so badly Iran's capability and intent to continue their nuclear weapons program. A source with intimate knowledge of the investigation, which is ongoing, told CBN News investigators suspect the "Fort Jackson Five" may have been in contact with the group of five Washington, DC area Muslims that traveled to Pakistan to wage jihad against U.S. troops in December. That group was arrested by Pakistani authorities, also just before Christmas.

Coming as it does on the heels of November's Fort Hood jihadist massacre, this news has major implications.

Say you lived in a state where the legislature is controlled by a veto proof majority in both houses. And just for argument's sake, say the last three Speakers of the House have been indicted for corruption resulting in removal of each.

And let's for argument's sake also say that other members of the controlling party have been caught in corruption stings, one who was photographed stuffing bribe money into her bra. And let's say that another member of the legislature was a vocal proponent for tax increases but after the increase in sales tax was passed, this guy was caught traveling to New Hampshire to buy the same product he just advocated a tax increase for.

Then along comes a candidate for governor who promises real "Change You Can Believe In". Sound familiar? You could almost call the guy Obama 1.0 by the slogans and promises he made that got him elected. He was going to "change the way government works" and lower property taxes, lift the burden on the middle class, create jobs, yada, yada, yada.

But when Deval Patrick, Democratic Governor of Massachusetts proceeded to run amok, who's fault was it? The corrupt party in control is the Democratic party. And someone actually thought you would get change by electing an executive from the same party? And with all our universities and colleges we're supposed to have a high number of so-called intellectual elites? Instead of voting HIM in, you should have voted THEM out!

Deval Patrick is a disaster. A perfect prototype of the same disaster going on in Washington. Why, his good friend Barack Obama even lifted the same campaign slogans and promises. And the land of the gullible bought the idea that one party rule would lead to bipartisanship, better government, and lowed deficits and taxes. Surprise!

We were supposed to be wiser to such empty suits taking over our government in the age of blogs, talk radio and the whole social networking thing. But the old media still carries the day in electoral matters. Or so we thought until Scott Brown broke the biased New York Times - Boston Globe monopoly on political reporting.

Still, it worries me that folks can be so easily misled into believing anything. Deval Patrick should have been a warning but instead was touted as a positive example of the power of change. As they say, "how's that change working out for you, Massachusetts?"

Election Year Chutzpah From Niki Tsongas

"U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas, D-Lowell, will host a Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce small business roundtable in Ayer Wednesday, specifically to discuss policies behind job creation and economic growth.

In a press release, Tsongas said she plans to use the information gathered at that meeting to mold new job creation efforts developed by lawmakers.

She also said that she plans to hold similar discussions with other business leaders throughout the Fifth Congressional District in the coming weeks to "make sure that the voices of local businesses are being heard.""

If you read my previous post "Why Niki Tsongas Needs to Go" you would know that she voted for the TARP Bill that was supposed to get credit rolling to small businesses so they could hire new workers or keep existing ones and failed to the tune of a few million jobs. She also voted for the so-called Stimulus Bill that was to spend $787B on "shovel-ready" jobs. Only 20% of the money ever got spent and the only jobs were in government to oversee spending the money.

She also voted for Obamacare with its new fees and taxes that wll further burden small businesses. And she voted for Cap and Trade which is nothing more than a huge energy tax disguised as environmental legislation to solve a problem that has since been exposed as a hoax.

But it's an election year and Scott Brown won the 5th district of Massachusetts handily claiming 27 of 29 towns. So Niki is going to hold some meetings to make it look like she cares as much for jobs as she does for the liberal progressive agenda she's been voting for.

My story isn't remarkably different from millions of Americans who have tried to work with their elected officials only to find arrogance and detachment.

When the TARP bill was being proposed and rushed through Congress, I wrote to my congressman about my concerns. It seemed we were being told there was a financial crisis but its parameters were only disclosed in vagaries. If we didn't pass this massive bailout we were told, the credit for business would freeze up and millions of Americans could lose their jobs. The cause they said was that housing prices had dropped precipitously and people who had taken out loans too big for their personal finances to handle were going into foreclosure as a result.

My concern was that the bill only dealt with the symptom of the problem by loaning massive amounts of taxpayer dollars to failing banks with absolutely no oversight and no provisions to address the underlying causes of the problem. We were told that as the money came back it would go to pay back the debt, to the taxpayers from whom it was lent.

My congressman wrote back with the typically condescending form letter about why she would vote for TARP. It addressed none of my concerns and sure enough, millions of jobs were still lost and nobody knows exactly where the bailout money went. Now as banks repay some of the money, Congress and the President are looking to funnel it to other priorities as though it wasn't borrowed from us taxpayers in the first place.

Next came the Stimulus Bill which again was rushed through Congress as a means to stem rising unemployment. I again wrote to my congressman and protested that the money would not go to creating jobs but would instead be a massive pork bill where every Democratic congressperson would funnel money to pet projects and special interests. Sure enough, unemployment skyrocketed, the money has disappeared into imaginary projects and districts, and we taxpayers footed the bill, not just now but for generations to come.

I also wrote to my congressman to insist she vote against the Cap and Trade Bill. No credible climate scientists (if there are any left) are claiming that cap and trade has any effect on improving the environment. Rather it is a job killing business tax in a time the economy is under great stress. The result of my letter? Another condescending "mother-knows-best" form letter about why my congressman will ignore me and public opinion and vote for this scam which is government appropriation of the same Ponzi scheme to put the leaders of Enron in jail.

Then health reform came to the House of Representatives for a vote. The people had been promised that "all ideas" would be listened to and then the House Democrats voted down every amendment proposed by Republicans. They formulated the bill behind closed doors with insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, Planned Parenthood and trial lawyers. Left out was tort reform which is universally recognized as vital to containing costs. And competition across state lines was also not included.

Like most congressmen, my representative held town hall meetings last summer. She heard the same objections I raised in my letters and dismissed each one, went back to Washington and did as directed by Nancy Pelosi and the liberal special interests.

I expect that as new initiatives like immigration reform come up in the future, it will be more of the same. In each case referred to above, public opinion was against the Democrats and their radical expansion of government. But they plowed ahead anyway, seemingly believing that we inferior beings will just take it and continue to vote them back in. Along the way we discovered that today's congressmen don't write the laws, they outsource that. And the laws come back so voluminous and written in such legalese that the congressmen don't read them either. So they don't write laws, don't read laws and vote how they are told by a few in the leadership working with (or for) special interests.

Well, I say ENOUGH! I'm supporting Jon Golnik for Congress against Niki Tsongas. And not just with my vote. For the first time, I'm going to get involved and do all I can to make it happen. If I don't I have only myself to blame for what comes next. And if it just goes back to Republicans growing the debt and enriching themselves and their friends? I'll work to vote them out too next time till we get it right.

End of the Kennedy Myth

The Kennedys turned the idea of "service" on its head. Self-service is more like it. Despite amassing a fortune through the illegal bootlegging trade, they seldom parted with a dime of their own, earning the tag of being cheap even to lowly waitresses and bag claim attendants.

Rather than sharing their wealth, the fed at the public trough as royalty. Their congressional seats were bought and reelections seen as entitlements.

The first sign of their impending fall was when Caroline was snubbed in her quest for a royal appointment to Hillary Clinton's New York Senate seat. With zero qualifications for the job, she still thought it would be handed to her.

Patrick thought himself bigger than the Pope, asserting that he knew more about Catholic theology in matters of faith and morals. The resulting slam-down wasn't pretty.

And as the government takeover of health care falters, an initiative described as Ted Kennedy's lifelong dream, it appears the clout he once enjoyed has not extended past his death.

The fact is, there was no mystique to begin with. John and Bobby Kennedy's accomplishments belonged to a different time. The myths that grew up around them long since dispelled.

Obama Rescues Iraq With Bold Surge Strategy

With so little accomplishment since being elected to the presidency, it's no wonder that Joe Biden is touting the success in Iraq as a victory for the Obama administration. But the timing is odd coming the day before Iran claimed to join the nuclear club.

More odd is that anyone who watches even the biased left wing news shows would know that both Biden and Obama vigorously opposed the strategy that caused this success in the first place.

It has become quite clear that the only way liberal progressive policies can advance is through the censoring of opposing views. That's because their arguments and policies are too weak to ever win over a seizable majority. Remember, all most people knew about Barack Obama was that he was promising "Hope and Change" and he wasn't George Bush. Each day that goes by and the people get a closer look at what his polices are is another day of declining approval ratings.

So what is his response? In a talk with the Democratic leadership, Obama told them to stop watching cable news and listening to talk radio. He previously has said Fox News is "not a real news station." Apparently the people didn't get the memo since in polls they've said Fox is the most trusted name in news.

On climate change, Al Gore, the High Priest of Global Warming refuses to even debate his critics. And now we know why. Most of the climate change consensus is built on fraudulent data, suppression of dissent, and marginalization of critics. With an open debate, or a curious media, one learns the Himalayan glaciers are not melting away before our eyes, the ice caps are bigger by the size of California than the data shows, the 'hockey stick" looks more like a mountain range, periods of CO2 increase follow, not lead periods of warming, measurements have been gamed to exclude arctic regions in Canada and Russia, and most of the political leaders pushing for Cap and Trade schemes own interests in companies that would benefit from them.

Then there's the hot button issue of abortion. The pro-abortion folks have been very successful at controlling the entire dialect around abortion. It's not baby killing, it's pregnancy termination. Not killing but a woman's choice and control over her own body. Why they've even managed to get it classified as preventive medicine in the health care bills in Congress.

But look what happened when someone threw a curve at them in the form of a pro-life ad for the Super Bowl. Without even seeing it or knowing its exact content, the feminazis who run regimes built on blood like Planned Parenthood, NARAL and NOW all swung into action to try and suppress this dangerous message. They circulated petitions, sent their media spinners out to cable and national news outlets and did everything but set themselves on fire. Of course, in doing so they created exactly the media buzz and backlash the producers of the ad hoped for.

On a smaller stage in Ohio, the Speaker of the House of Representatives refused to give acknowledgement of an achievement to a young girl because the award was related to her pro-life activities. Similar awards are routinely given out. But the abortion blood money funded Democratic politician couldn't find it in his heart (if he has one) to do his job in this case and act like a human being. Once again, the only way liberals can compete is by silencing their opponents in the debate.

In the Obama administration in places that control the airwaves, are appointees that have advocated for the regulation of talk radio and cable news. Behind the scenes they work to find ways to tilt the playing field in their direction. When the Supreme Court ruled that the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law violated the First Amendment of the US Constitution, these minions of censorship swung into action. They immediately filed new laws to restrict contributions from Republican leaning corporations but not Democratic leaning Planned Parenthood.

Toying with our free speech rights is a losing cause though. If they really ant to win the battle of ideas, they just need to come up with some that have popular support.

Just in the past few weeks it was discovered that the UN's predominant GLOBAL WARMING resource the IPCC committed massive fraud and has distorted basic scientific data to paint an untrue picture.

They tried to hide the decline in temperatures for the last 10 years by switching measurement methods from ice cores to temp sensors.

They knew they had the wrong data for Himalayan glacier melt by 300 years (2350 vs 2035) and didn't alert anyone.

They tried to smooth out data on the warming period from a thousand years ago to make the 20th century stand out.

They removed most of the temp sensors north of the arctic circle.

They reduced by 90% the number of temp sensors in Russia and relied on ones near urban centers.

They tried to suppress opposing views and continue through rag sheets like the Globe to marginalize anyone who questions their dogma.

And now they're going to add another government agency to try and perpetuate the hoax and fraud through sheer state power.

Every motion by Obama and his global allies is a move to redistribute your wealth to themselves and their friends, a small ruling elite that seeks power for its own sake.

Obama's Declining Approvals Resume

After a short-lived bump from his "impressive" State of the Union Address, Obama has resumed his declining approval ratings.

15% more people disapprove of the job Obama is doing than approve. However, many presidencies have begun with recessions and just as the president gets blamed for the bad times, when recovery comes, they often get the credit as well.

Things I'd Like Obama to Be For

With the winning streak Barack Obama is on, supporting losing candidates in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts and more recently picking the Colts to win the Super Bowl, I've been thinking about the things I'd like him to show more support for:

1. Al Qaeda. By being more open about his support for Islamic terror, it would surely collapse. But by declaring the War on Terror over and just a police matter, I fear we're in for some more rough sledding.

2. Abortion. Obama has claimed that he wants to see fewer abortions. Yet his actions are obviously the opposite. Making something free usually doesn't make it go away. But if he announced support for baby killing, I'm sure it would end.

3. LA Lakers and New York Yankees. Living in the Boston area, I'd like to see the Celtics and Red Sox thrive. With an Obama endorsement, the New York teams wouldn't have a chance. i'm hoping for some carryover for the Colts endorsement as well so the Patriots have a clear shot to the Super Bowl next year.

4. Chinese Communism. We know he likes it but he just isn't public about it enough. The Chinese economy is growing and political oppression increasing. But if Obama said he favored the Chinese system, I'm confident it would collapse. Remember how he sent a letter to the rulers of Iran expressing hope for constructive dialog right before they rigged their own elections and sent Iran into a tailspin? He could do the same for China.
